Completed Semester 1 of the CCNA Discovery in February 2008, completed Semester 2 in July 2008, the sat the CCENT exam three times to eventually After passing my CompTIA A+ certification, I was given a work-experience placement in my local authority's IT Department's Helpdesk, and after doing an 11 week placement there, I start as a full-time employee on the 22nd of September. This is all down to the fact that I have taken this first qualification. I have done the course until assignment 16 and I have successfully got a IT tech job, which I feel is a huge achievement, having still not yet completed the course now I have the advantage to learn and work at the same time by putting my knowledge in to practical work. I attained 100% in my first assignment that I had to form a JavaScript interactive form that produced new windows and described "properties of a car". I was so pleased as it took a lot of self motivation and belief before I thought I was able to use what i`d learnt!! I was so pleased when I produced this working page that I sent a copy of my file too all who knew me. My parents were over the moon for me and my friends have taken more interest in my course (You never know maybe one day I May be helping them). In any case I feel I really have attained something in my last assignment of JavaScript, hence why I am putting myself forward for student of the month!! well here goes! I have today just submitted the final TMA for Section 4 Part B of the CIW Website Design Manager course and am looking forward to receiving the final part of my course and the Adobe CS3 software. To get to this goal I have studied each week day for the last 18 months whilst continuing my full time employment and raised my 4 year old son and new born daughter (6 days ago). In the last month I have received my first job offer related to my studies (3 month contract for an entry level IT job with Aegon) and I am also awaiting news from the local university in regards to a database analyst job which is full time. I just recently submitted a CV to monster.co.uk and have found it a useful tool and both of these job vacancies have been bought to my attention from monster. I can now see the benefits of the course and look forward to completing the course and possibly continuing my studies afterwards. In a bid to also gain further examples of my work I have recently got agreement from a local Primary School to do a website showing the facilities of the nursery and their mission statement in regards to a childs education. I would like to thank Skills Train for the excellent course provided to gain the skills needed to work in IT. I would like to let everyone know that until now I did not believe that by doing my Network+ & CCNA course with Skills Train would open doors so easy, but it does & because of my willing to learn a skill & my willing to learn they have now given me the opportunity in a support role within the IT Department with training and the chance to progress further and this is all thanks to Skills Train. Thank you very much for creating that chance that will change my life for the better. Hi I have just completed the CompTIA A+ and gained certification after being out of work due to having a hernia operation and now I am looking to gain entry in to the IT industry with the help and support of the skills train tutors and admin. First, I would like to use this opportunity to thank SKILL TRAIN STAFF/TUTORS for turning my life around. I have been struggling before with things in general then it dawned on me that I have to make something out of my life, then I started this course. I have worked at my currently employment for just over 4 years now starting as a call centre worker. After 3 years I began to feel dissatisfied and wanted more from life, that's when I decided to take up the CIW webmaster course and make something of my life. I then moved up within the same company and became an administrator. With the current situation of the global recession and companies cutting back my administrator job has come under threat as my employers look at outsourcing to the Far East. However this has resulted in a great opportunity, as I have now been offered the role of Junior Web Developer within the IT department at my company. This is just fantastic I am absolutely over the moon! Considering I have no practical experience or any formal qualifications as of yet, but what I do have is an eagerness to learn new skills and the determination to work hard and achieve what I want out of life. I have recently been learning Visual Basic.NET alongside my webmaster course which will give me a great head start and broaden my skill set. I would like to say a big thanks to Skills Train as the providers of my course because I believe that without this course I would not have been offered my new job. Over the years I have learned that you don't always get what you want by just saying it but by doing something to prove you want it and that is what this course has done. I started this course at the age of 53. I am teaching IT in Ethnic Minority Business services and really wanted to improve my technical skills.I started this course in April 08, have finished section 1 part B, done TMA 10 with resulting average 80 to 90%. I have achieved these results even being very busy doing my job, looking after my home responsibilities and caring my disable husband who has renal failure and needs a kidney transplant. I find the course a huge challenge, mainly because my schedule. I have to study very hard when I come from work. I spent at least one hour to study these course. I am seem to be doing the course physically alone, but in fact I've got a whole team out there who can support me at any time I need. The tutors are very helpful. I keep in touch with them even on Saturday or Sunday. I had to re-submit an assignment due to a very poor mark. I received 100% for my second effort. I have been having a bad time of late. I have discovered I have Arthritis in my right knee, hip, lower back and neck. It has been very painful and the drugs I have been prescribed don't take all the pain away, but leave me tired and unable to concentrate properly. Since successfully completing my A+ Certification, I have been selected for the role of Head Technician and manager of the PC Clinic orientation, in PC World. Despite having Crohn's Disease and having tests to make sure its not too bad and the medication I'm on, I have been able to get 5 100% marks in a row on my assignments even though I have been in pain while studying for the assignments and having to go to hospital for tests. Plus had to spend a short time at my parents due to not been well, but am slowly getting the revision assignment completed again, due to I hadn't answered the questions fully when asked to, which I have done when not too tired, as Crohns also causes extreme tiredness too as well as the pain.
