I haven't been keeping up with my CIW course as much as I would of liked to due to health reasons, but after an MRI scan a neuroma was found which has been causing my excruciating pain almost daily now & I can have an operation very soon to remove the neuroma, finally after 12 years I will be pain free.

During the same time the neuroma was found I was approached by the Youth Support Services (YSS) and they have asked me to design and manage a website for one of their departments. Both my sons are members and when they were told that they would not be able to have a website of their own my sons told them that I am doing a Website Designer course so that is the reason they approached me. They informed me that they would pay me to design the website for them but I have told them that I will do it for free as they have done such a lot for my sons since they became members. They've been on holidays, days out, sleep overs & many other activities without me having to contribute any money towards the things they have done, and my sons have really enjoyed all the holidays and activities. I am so impressed with all the help they have given to us all.

Being asked to design the website for them has made me more determined to continue with my course, even though I've had a really hard time in my life health wise being asked to design this website has made me realise that being a website designer and manager is what I want to do. Everyone involved in the website, the staff, children and parents, are so excited about having a website, I've had so much input from all of them about what it is they want that it has made me excited about doing it for them too. I wouldn't of been able to contribute anything if it wasn't for the course I am doing, so I would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Skills Train for giving me this opportunity.

Thank you so very much, I hope that you continue to offer courses to many people so that they too can turn their lives around just like you have turned my life around.

Since ever I started training with skillstrain,I have radiated confidence and attended two interwiew and was successful to the extent that the interviewer said he is going to start recommending skillstrain when I answered the question ;what do you understand by the following HUB,ROUTER & SWITCHES.

HUB is a wiring concentration for a LAN & WAN that provide a central attachment point for the network cabling. ROUTER is a device that operate on the network layer of the OSI open system interconnection which is used to route information from LAN and WAN. SWITCHES intelligent which contains circuitry that very quickly, routes signal between ports on the hub.A communication paradiam in which a dedicated communication path is established between the sender and receiver along which all packets travel.

I've recently been diagnosed with Cancer (Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia) after a regular Eye Test which came as a big shock and very divastating. Im only 29 years old and I thought I had this massive life ahead of me but now its going to be a touch and go. I was meant to go for the second interveiw with a local I.T company but all that has gone out of the window. I've been going through a series of tests and awaiting to undergo chemotherapy which I hope I will respond well to.

I hope I will have less severe side effects to chemotherapy so that I can finish my CCNP and have a long normal life. If you have a chance to read this note, I advise you all to go for regular Blood Tests/Tests so that any irregularities would be diagnosed/picked up early. Sharing this with all of you makes me feel better and wish you all a healthy life. Many thanks to Skills Train for granting me more time to finish my course.

HI, 6 YEARS AGO I WS HOMELESS ON THE STREETS WITH NO HOPE FOR A FUUTURE AND CERTAINLY NEVER DREAMED OF ONE IN IT. AFTER MANAGING TO SORT MYSELF OUT A BIT AND SETTLING DOWN TRYING OUT MANY DIFFERENT COURSES. IT CAME TO LIGHT A FEW YEARS AGO THAT I SEEM TO HAVE A NATUAL ABILTIY FOR PC HARDWARE AND A FAIRLY GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORKING OF PC HARDWARE. I SAW THIS COURSE ADVERTISED ON TELEVISION AND PHONED THEM UP AND THAT'S WHERE IT ALL STARTED.

I AM UNEMPLOYED WITH 2 KIDS AND A 5 MONTH OLD BABY TO LOOK AFTER, I USE MY UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT TO PAY FOR THE COURSE AND WE USE MY PARNTERS MONEY TO LIVE ON AS WE BOTH KNOW THAT AT THE END OF THE DAY WE WILL ALL GAIN IMMENSLY. SOMETIMES IT'S A STRUGGLE TO GET THE TIME OR PEACE TO GET THE STUDY TIME I NEED, BUT I MANAGE IT, AND SINCE I STARTED I DONT THINK I HAVE GOT BELOW 80% MORE THAN ONCE; NOT BAD FROM WHERE I HAVE COME FROM, I HATED SCHOOL AND COULD NOT STUDY, BUT THIS COURSE I LOVE. IT HAS GIVEN ME A NEW LEASE OF LIFE YET AGAIN AND I CAN SEE A FUTURE IN THE WORLD OF IT FOR MYSELF.

THANKS SKILLSTRAIN

Despite the pressures of caring for my one year old son and the household chore, I have achieved excellent results in the last 3 months. I have been highly motivated, working hard and received good support from my family and tutors alike. This has proved to be very fruitful and enabled me to make rapid strides in my training with very good marks. This shows that with right determination and efforts I can reach my precious goal. I thank the Skills train team for providing me the platform to rediscover my potential.

Hello, I am a mechanical engineering graduate, but was still a complete novice in web related issues before I started this program. To say the truth, all I knew and did online was to check my Yahoo mail!!!!.

In me, I always had a deep urge to know more about IT and Web Designing in particular and I had always thought of it. So one day while watching the television I saw a Skillstrain advertisement, it really caught my attention so I did more research on it and "it was exactly what I needed". The CIW E-commerce and CompTIA Project+ program had the right mix and match of my desired modules and included Project management (a very important management tool), so I enrolled for this course.

So far it has been a very interesting course and I am very passionate about it, the tutors are very efficient and the course materials are very understandable, I am already feeling very knowledgeable in this field. My family and friends say I work on it and talk about it all the time. I even dropped my other course I registered for so I can have enough time to work on this course. I am really enjoying my course so far.

Thanks alot Skillstrain for giving me an oppourtunity to do what I really want to do.

I do not have access to the internet I don't even have a computer. I should be doing a course called "Beginning for beginners". After months of illness I felt that I would just get on with it and do my best and since that time I have seen some changes: alright it hasn't been anything astonishing to an outsider but within myself I am quietly satisfied with the knowledge that things are moving forward albeit slowly. There is a confidence about my studying that is very gratifying and at the sending of each TMA I am overcome with the sense of achievement beyond my expectation.

Well, after a busy first half of the year I was struggling to keep up with my study timetable and also lead a busy life. I work for a medium sized telecomms/I.T company and have been trying to move more into the I.T side of things, as I believe there is more prospects and opportunity, but this has proved difficult as I do not have the necessary experience they require, that was one of the main reasons I embarked on this study programme and course.

Well, about 6 weeks ago I was on a job in a textile factory installing a new phone line, when the head of Their I.T enquired if my company installed and maintained computer networks and all the associated peripherals, I told him yes and agreed to take a quick look around so I could report back to my company with a basic outline of what equipment was onsite. I got back to my office that afternoon and reported back to the I.T manager of my company, in as much detail as I could, with their requirements. As a result of this and applying the knowledge I had gained through this course, the I.T Manager had a meeting with the textile company, and won a five year maintenance contract. Now, I have a full time position in the I.T department as an ICT technician in training. It has certainly spurred me on and now I can devote that little bit more time to my studies as I am able to study at work.

I had started IT Bsc but was forced to leave university in my first year. In March 2003 I had a routine back operation and was assured full recovery within 1 month, however four years later and I am still suffering from excruciating lower back Pain (coxcyc bone). It has made my life very difficult and is worst when sitting. The pain becomes unbearable very quickly. To say things have been difficult is a huge underestimation. Nearly two years after my operation I enroled for this course. I was lying down working on a laptop but that made my back worse so I requested and was granted "time out". My wife who has been great from the beginning was obviously under massive amounts of stress and after four years of battling this hard reality it finaly became to much and she suffered a VT attack (a serious heart condition). It was brought about by stress. I was visited by a friends relative recently who is a doctor abroad. He advised me to take some medicine and since taking it I have found some relief. It has allowed me to put in time so I am able to continue with the course. I submitted my assignment recently where I had to design a web site. It was my first assignment since restarting my course. I got 100%. Some days are still very difficult now my wifes health is not so great anymore but I am determined to complete this course and am very glad I began it. Maybe there are many other place offering similar courses but I am glad I chose scheidegger as the whole service they provide is excellent and most importantly the way they have understood my personal issues and even this competition shows they really care about making a difference in peoples lives.

The last few months for me have been really hard, on top of the fact my laptop has broken twice and had to be wiped clean of all my work, my partner has been to and from hospital.

Although all this has been happening around me I have always felt content about completeing my work with skills train as, as everyone knows we can work at our own pace and have great support from the team whilst were completing the course. I believe if I was in college or university I would of had to have quit my course by now as I would of been really far behind with work.

After months of trying to juggle the studying, homelife, kids and work (nights) I can finally see that it will all be worth it in the end. Just sent in TMA 10 and waiting for the results, still averaging 95% and I actually know that the work that I have done is paying off. I recently upgraded the memory and the graphics on my home pc and it now works like a dream. Actually being phoned up to come and try and sort out peoples PCs (for a fee !!) and I have also got a placement with a local IT solutions firm in order to broaden my horizons in the IT world. Still got a long way to go but I am no longer out of my depth and will be be looking forward to my career change, probably after Christmas.

I thought I would struggle with the Javascript section of the course, but I have been very pleasantly surprised with how quickly I picked it up with a little patience and determination. I was delighted to get 100% for the script I submitted for my final assessment, especially since my health has deteriorated again this month so it's been a struggle sometimes to keep up. At the same time I have completed a database-driven website for a friend, making use of php and mySQL which I've also had to learn as I went along. This all gives me confidence that I can be successful in the course and go on to make a living, despite my health issues.
