I moved to the UK in 2004 from Zimbabwe and l had never had access to a computer. This was my second asignment and did exptionally well.l worked very hard at my job at the hospital this month but l always stole a few minutes to read my notes. I HAVE ONLY SENT IN TWO UNIT AND FOUND THAT I HAVE GOOD RESULTS I thought I was a fairly good PC engineer before I took this course but the structure and the personal pace that you can go is excellant and I have learnt a great deal in thee last to TMA I have sent I i have acheived 100% on both of them I completely recommend and endorse this course for anyone interested in becomming a engineer Well I think I have acheived some good goals, my computer crashed and had to go back to curry's, got it back resubmitted number 10 got 11, and 12, ready to go, changed my job so now work nights, this leaves me time to study look after my 2 year old daughter do the house work while my partner works, and still find time to sleep during the day! I have full time job beside my course. it is very difficult to achieve my course but I do my best . I use to read my materials during my break. also I try to help someone has a computer shop to repair and maintaince and I feel happy because I implement my expreince which I gain from the A+ course. WELL WHAT CAN I SAY,I AM SPEECHLESS ? I ONLY CAN SAY, DOING THIS COURSE IS ONE OF THE BEST THING I'VE EVER DONE IN MY LIFE AND I AM PROUD OF IT, AND OPTION ARE OPEN TO ME, WITH CONFIDENT I CAN SEE MY BRIGHT FUTHER. After having a motorcycle accident in April '06 I am unlikely to be able to resume my old job as a storeman. So in November I started with Skilstrain to try to retrain for an IT job. I started on the A+2003 syllabus and did the first 5 assignments (scoring average 92%) but then switched to the 2006 syllabus. After a slow period over christmas I have picked up the pace and done the first 10 assignments on the new syllabus (average 100%). I am enjoying the course immensely and learning new stuff everyday about the same computers I've been using for ages (but not able to maintain properly until now). High % pass rate. active on logging in. Learned patience, espeically waiting for assingments to be marked. Same time as doing this course I have found the time to go back into linux coding and writing irc help files. I thought I could never be able again to have time or interest to study and have a career at my age thanks to skillstrain that is giving me back that my long lost desire, interest, enthusiasm and possibility to be able and reach my target, goal - C A R E E R!!! Life is a competition. Is like never end story and I am the hero. Learning something new in this field every day is like a big step forward. I HAVE STUDDYED WELL THIS YEAR SO FAR AND HAVE REACHED QUITE A FEW 100% MARKS WHICH I THROUGHT I WOULD NEVER REACH AS I DIDN'T HAVE TO BEST OF SCHOOLING BUT PC'S SEEM TO BE EASY TO UNDERSTAND SO I THINK I SHOULD BE STUDENT OF THE MONTHS I have been very pleased with my results this month after under going a cornea graph on my right eye and been in some extreme pain with my eye. it as been frustrating only been able to study for short periods because I have been limited to the amount I can read and it as been hard to concetrate too. My achievement this month have been the scoring of a 100% in each of my TMA's for the A+ Essentials section 1 part B (2006 Objectives) course. This I consider significant because 5 months ago I knew nothing about computers and did not even have an e-mail address because it all looked too complicated for me. Now after enrolling with Skillstrain I feel motivated and encouraged to enrol for a degree course in IT after my training with Skillstrain. This is coupled with the fact that I work over 10 hours a day from Wednesday to Monday with only a day off. Now I have been able to upgrade the RAM memory and the HDD of my pc after over just 3 months of enrolling with the college and I feel I can do in no time.
